Colan Grootenboer

Osteopathic Treatment  | Athletic Therapy Services

Colan Grootenboer is an Osteopathic Practitioner and Athletic Therapist who works at Healing Hands Therapy Inc. in Campbell River, BC.  Originally from Ontario, he went to University of Guelph, ON and Sheridan College (Oakville, ON) to obtain his degree in Human Kinetics and a diploma in Sports Injury Management.  While studying post-secondary schooling he represented the Guelph Gryphons and Sheridan Bruins soccer teams and was named Academic All-Canadian Athlete in 2005.  After working as the head therapist for 3 years with the Soo Greyhounds (OHL) he moved to Campbell River, BC in 2008.

Since being in Campbell River, Colan has worked for ErgoRisk/MoveSafe focussing on industrial pain management and return to work programs while studying Oseopathy in Vancouver, BC.  During this time, he has established a local and regional clientele which began at a home office but is currently at a clinical space since 2016.

Work with clients in a one on one setting using manual therapy techniques has always been a preference of treatment approach for Colan.  Having a curiosity and desire to learn about the body’s natural mechanics, physiology and anatomy is also another interest of Colan.  Applying the principles of Osteopathy and Athletic Therapy with his clients offers a unique approach to optimize one’s health in a holistic way.  Colan is passionate about helping people overcome and improve their dysfunctions.  From acute pain to concussion management to pregnancy / post partum / infant treatments to complex chronic pain to return to sport progressions, Colan has unique training, skills and life experience to help a wide variety of clients.

Colan, along with his wife Georgina Knox, and two children are active members of the Campbell River community.  They enjoy the outdoors and currently are engaged in many activities from camping, skiing, biking, hiking, to soccer, hockey and beyond. 

Stephanie Racine

Bodyworker (Massage Provider)

Stephanie Racine is a Student Massage Therapist at MH Vicars School, Calgary, AB. Stephanie will conclude her program in November 2021 and is expecting to be a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) by 2022. Along with her schooling, Stephanie has worked in spa settings as a bodyworker offering Relaxation and Deep Tissue Massage.

Originally from Victoriaville, Qc, Stephanie has moved to British Columbia in 2018. She has over 10 years of coaching experience with cross-country runners, road running athletes and soccer teams. She has also worked with triathlon clubs and as a personal trainer for several years. From 2013 to 2017, Stephanie has completed her studies in University Laval, Qc with a bachelor in Sport Intervention and followed with a second degree microprogram in Performance Optimization.

Stephanie’s passion for understanding the adaptability of the human body has led her wanting to have a direct impact on people’ s life and wellness as a RMT. When not working, Stephanie is running on the road or in the trails, sailing in Desolation Sound, climbing, skiing and/or camping.
